Himalayan Kitchen on Urbanspoon Himalayan Kitchen

360 South State Street    Salt Lake City, UT  84111       (5 out of 5 stars)

This is one of my favorite places Zac and I have been to recently.  I met a lot of Nepali people in Hong Kong and they invited me over to their home to cook for me, so I was so excited when we drove by this place on the corner.  It definitely hit the mark of authenticity (based on what I had in Nepali's kitchens) and was a total delight being there.  They greeted us like we truly had come to their home, and they were very attentive (in an un-annoying way.)  The food was excellent.  We ordered the masala papadam as an appetizer based on the sari-clad waiter's recommendation (at least I think that's what she said..) that was packed with great spices (a little too spicy for me, but my husband loved it.)  Ordered the Lamb Coconut Curry and Chicken Tikka Masala and ate every bite.  Zac raved about it at any pause in conversation the next 3 days.  Pretty standard prices--$14 or so for an entree, but definitely worth it if you want to get spendy on date-night.
